Raffle proceeds to benefit Shelterbox Disaster Relief Kit

As many of you know, Pivotal IT is focused on helping its customers to be prepared to weather the challenges of business and the disasters that can hit- be it a crashed hard drive or a lost facility. We are also serious about helping give back to the community through volunteerism and working with a number of non-profits. One organization we support is Rotary. Courtney, our account manager, is a member and former president of Spartan West Rotary. His club is raising funds to purchase a Shelterbox(www.shelterboxusa.org), a disaster relief kit that gets delivered to the place it’s needed most.

Since ShelterBox was founded, we have responded to over 270 disasters and humanitarian crises in more than 95 geographic locations and provided emergency aid for well over one million people. Shelterboxes have been used in response to some of our world’s worst disasters. Most recently, they were used in response to Hurricane Matthew’s effects in Haiti. ShelterBox aid is tailored to a disaster but typically includes a disaster relief tent for a family, thermal blankets and groundsheets, water storage and purification equipment, solar lamps, cooking utensils, a basic tool kit, mosquito nets and children’s activity pack.

To raise funds to purchase the Shelterbox, Courtney’s Rotary club is raffling off a Yeti soft cooler. You can buy raffle tickets for $1.00 by contacting Courtney, or you can make a donation directly to Spartan West Rotary if you want to help purchase a Shelterbox. The drawing for the cooler will be on February 16th.
