Disasters Don't Plan Ahead. You Can.

The mission of FEMA’s PrepareAthon is to motivate people and
communities to take action, prepare for and protect themselves against
disasters. Its chief goals are to increase the number of people who:

  • ‍Understand which disasters could affect their community
  • ‍Know what to do to stay safe
  • ‍Take action to increase preparedness
  • ‍Improve their ability to recover from a disaster

Launched in February 2003, Ready is a National public
service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare
for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and manmade
disasters.  Since 2013, more than 147
million participants have practiced preparedness activities and conducted more
than 1,000 registered PrepareAthon events. 
Events focus on preparedness actions that are easy, quick and affordable
such as creating and testing communications plans, accessing local alerts and
warnings, documenting and

This year, as returning participant in America’s
PrepareAthon and National Preparedness Month, Pivotal IT will be providing
information and resources to help you prepare your business and employees
should disaster strike.  Each week in
September will focus on a specific theme:

Week 1 – Make a Plan for Yourself, Family and Friends

Week 2 – Plan to Help Your Neighbor and Community

Week 3 – Practice and Build Out Your Plans

Week 4 – Get Involved!
