Disasters Don't Plan Ahead. You Can.

The mission of FEMA’s PrepareAthon is to motivate people and communities to take action, prepare for and protect themselves against
disasters. Its chief goals are to increase the number of people who:

• Understand which disasters could affect their community
• Know what to do to stay safe
• Take action to increase preparedness
• Improve their ability to recover from a disaster

Launched in February 2003, Ready is a National public service campaign designed to educate and empower the American people to prepare for, respond to and mitigate emergencies, including natural and manmade
disasters.  Since 2013, more than 147 million participants have practiced preparedness activities and conducted more than 1,000 registered PrepareAthon events.
